Rule 802. The Rule Against Hearsay

Hearsay is not admissible unless any of the following provides otherwise: • A statute; • These rules; or • Other rules prescribed by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Advisers' Note to former M.R. Evid. 802 (February 2, 1976) The proposition that hearsay is not admissible except as provided by these rules requires no comment.
