Rule 802. The Rule Against Hearsay

Hearsay is not admissible except as provided by law or by these Rules. Comment This rule tracks U.R.E. 802 rather than F.R.E. 802 which was deemed to be inapplicable to a state. D.R.E. 802 was amended in 2017 in response to the 2011 restyling of the Federal Rules of Evidence. The amendment is intended to be stylistic only. There is no intent to change any result in ruling on evidence admissibility.
